In the 6th minute Per-Arne Nordkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulf Lundgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Calle Örn in the 7th minute of play forced Hammarby SK's goalkeeper Ulf Lundgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saltö BK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 8th minute, when Per Håkansson scored to the left of an out of position Hugo Back, making the score, 1-0. In the 14thth minute of the game Per-Arne Nordkvist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hammarby SK's Ulf Lundgren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Calle Örn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Calle Örn scored 1-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ulf Lundgren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ulf Lundgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calle Örn in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute Markus Johansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulf Lundgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Saltö BK reached it. Ulf Lundgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carl Kvalfält in the 34th minute of the match. Leonard Häll kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Ulf Lundgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Per-Arne Nordkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute, Calle Örn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Per-Arne Nordkvist was the one to do the kick off. When Calle Örn came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Saltö BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Calle Örn couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Hammarby SK getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Karl-Erik Mattsson hit a great ball. In the 57th minute, Saltö BK's Calle Örn dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Per-Arne Nordkvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulf Lundgren having to interfere. After 62 minutes of play, Saltö BK's Calle Örn made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ulf Lundgren was left in no man's land by his defense there! Per-Arne Nordkvist's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ulf Lundgren firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ulf Lundgren made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Per-Arne Nordkvist sent off a good shot on target. Hammarby SK's Ulf Lundgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ola Bäck in the 70th minute of play. Calle Örn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Ulf Lundgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 72 minutes into the game, Leonard Häll was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hammarby SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Saltö BK the free kick. Leonard Häll kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Ulf Lundgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calle Örn in the 74th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Per-Arne Nordkvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rune Ahlberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulf Lundgren having to interfere. A collision led to Saltö BK getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Hans Brandin hit a great ball. Ulf Lundgren came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Saltö BK's Per-Arne Nordkvist. But to his dismay, Per-Arne Nordkvist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. The audience was convinced that Calle Örn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ulf Lundgren was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. The supporters of Saltö BK booed when Hammarby SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmund Kellman didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Hammarby SK's zone, Per-Arne Nordkvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulf Lundgren came out of the goal and Per-Arne Nordkvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Hammarby SK fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Saltö BK were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
