But to his dismay, Roland Abrahamsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Hubert Bergqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John Nilsson in the 14th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Edvard Hedkvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Calle Fastesson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute, Calle Fastesson made a precise shot to the right of Hubert Bergqvist. Skövde's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Hubert Bergqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calle Hedman, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. John Nilsson took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hubert Bergqvist. Hubert Bergqvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. 40 minutes into the match, Calle Hedman notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Skövde's Hubert Bergqvist. Hubert Bergqvist was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hubert Bergqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calle Hedman in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th minute Ragnar Lilja shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hubert Bergqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Hundsjön BK were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Hubert Bergqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by John Nilsson in the 52nd minute. 54 minutes into the match, Skövde's goal looked a bit too open when John Nilsson came free, but Hubert Bergqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Nilsson in the 56th minute of play forced Skövde's goalkeeper Hubert Bergqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Skövde fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hubert Bergqvist should have stopped the shot. In the 65th minute, Ragnar Lilja fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Hubert Bergqvist, passed just outside the right post. 69 minutes into the match, Skövde's goalkeeper Hubert Bergqvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by John Nilsson. Hubert Bergqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by John Nilsson in the 71st minute. The audience was convinced that Calle Fastesson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hubert Bergqvist was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Åke Lundgren might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hubert Bergqvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hubert Bergqvist made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when John Nilsson sent off a good shot on target. In the 83rd minute, Calle Hedman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hubert Bergqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Calle Fastesson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Skövde defense, Calle Hedman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hubert Bergqvist. The Skövde fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hubert Bergqvist should have stopped the shot. Hundsjön BK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
