Spectators: 7679 (Terracing: 5760, Seating: 1766, VIP seats: 153) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Elliot Vallgren started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, GGG's Frans Salkvist got a free kick in the 4th minute. 5 minutes into the match, GGG's goal looked a bit too open when Karl-Erik Åström came free, but Erland Bergqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 13 minutes, Agne Berglund managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GGG's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agne Berglund was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Birger Ahlgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agne Berglund in the 15th minute of the match. In the 19th minute of the game Sven-Arne Åhlberg made a throw-in which Karl-Erik Åström played forward. Birger Ahlgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agne Berglund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 36 minutes, Frans Salkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GGG's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frans Salkvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Agne Berglund came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the GGG fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agne Berglund couldn't finish the play. If Johan Ström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th minute Agne Berglund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Birger Ahlgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Agne Berglund made the kick off in the second half. Överlida IFK's Birger Ahlgren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Överlida IFK from getting a goal against them. 53 minutes into the match, Överlida IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Agne Berglund came free, but Birger Ahlgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Överlida IFK booed when GGG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agne Berglund didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elliot Vallgren in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erland Bergqvist saved GGG from getting behind. Erland Bergqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elliot Vallgren in the 60th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 62nd minute by Tord Hellsing got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Tord Hellsing could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Birger Ahlgren made a huge save. Tord Hellsing who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Birger Ahlgren when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Filiph Skålberg kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 77 minutes into the match, Johan Ström notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Överlida IFK's Birger Ahlgren. Birger Ahlgren was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Birger Ahlgren made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Tord Hellsing sent off a good shot on target. GGG's attentive Tord Hellsing managed to snatch the ball when Kåre Näfver made a throw-in in the 83rd minute of the game. In the 84th match minute, Överlida IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kåre Näfver to maneuver through the defense. Johan Ström has a good long shot, which he once again showed in the 85th minute of the match. Unfortunately the ball hit the outside of the left post. Kalle Carlsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frans Salkvist might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Birger Ahlgren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frans Salkvist ran back to his position shaking his head. Tord Hellsing struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Birger Ahlgren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GGG. Erland Bergqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jörn Lindberg in the 96th minute of play.
