Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) After having played for 3 minutes, Olov Holm managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. IFK Göteborg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olov Holm was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Lars-Erik Alefors fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored IFK Göteborg's protests and gave Lars-Erik Alefors a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, IFK Göteborg's Lars-Erik Alefors got a free kick in the 5th minute. Rutger Uggla made in the 7th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Mats Granberg immediately put the ball in play. After 8 minutes, Evert Klementsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the IFK Göteborg and the Latikberg players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 8th minute, Evert Klementsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rutger Uggla made in the 9th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Mats Granberg immediately put the ball in play. After a defensive mix-up in IFK Göteborg's zone, Erland Ekström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernt Tinglöf came out of the goal and Erland Ekström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Latikberg's Erland Ekström got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 18 played minutes IFK Göteborg got a freekick which was hit by Henry Malmberg. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Ove Olofsson in the 21st minute of play forced Latikberg's goalkeeper Mats Asplund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute Henry Malmberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mats Asplund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When IFK Göteborg's Henry Malmberg in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Latikberg's goalie prevented a goal. Felix Stenman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Arne Stenquist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erland Ekström made a kick off. Bernt Tinglöf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erland Ekström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erland Ekström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Bernt Tinglöf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evert Klementsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mats Asplund having to interfere. Felix Stenman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute, Arne Stenquist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Henry Malmberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rutger Uggla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Mats Asplund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute Erland Ekström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernt Tinglöf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bengt Bryngelsson was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 88 minutes into the match. After 89 played minutes IFK Göteborg got a freekick which was hit by Bengt Bryngelsson. Manfred Ek blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernt Tinglöf having to make a save. In the 93rd minute, Felix Stenman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Latikberg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the IFK Göteborg players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Latikberg.
