Kalle Bengtsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jonas Billock in the 7th minute. Kenny Eklund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Erik Lang having to interfere. The supporters of Sölvesborg booed when Västergårds Fotbollsklubb was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peter Ahlqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oscar Dahlbom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Karl-Erik Lang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Kenny Eklund had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Karl-Erik Lang. Sölvesborg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kenny Eklund was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonas Billock got free with Kalle Bengtsson in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 28th minute, Oscar Dahlbom made a precise shot to the right of Karl-Erik Lang. Sölvesborg's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. In the 31st minute, Kenny Eklund left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Västergårds Fotbollsklubb fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Karl-Erik Lang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Dahlbom in the 34th minute of play. After 44 minutes, Oskar Söderlund mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sölvesborg and the Västergårds Fotbollsklubb players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience held their breath when Jens-Åke Vestberg in the 46th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Karl-Erik Lang's left hand side. In the 46th minute of the match Jens-Åke Vestberg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Karl-Erik Lang showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oscar Dahlbom stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Kenny Eklund kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Karl-Erik Lang. That made the score 0-6 in the 56 minute of play. Henrik Bolin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Karl-Erik Lang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oscar Dahlbom blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Karl-Erik Lang having to make a save. In the 68th minute, Oscar Dahlbom ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Karl-Erik Lang was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. Peter Ahlqvist's late challenge caught a Sölvesborg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Peter Ahlqvist helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th minute, Peter Ahlqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kenny Eklund blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Karl-Erik Lang having to make a save. In the 75th minute Jonas Billock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kalle Bengtsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sölvesborg's zone, Jens-Åke Vestberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karl-Erik Lang came out of the goal and Jens-Åke Vestberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kalle Bengtsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Billock in the 85th minute of the match. In the 88th match minute, Sölvesborg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kjell Rudberg to maneuver through the defense. In the 91stth minute of the game Oscar Dahlbom who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sölvesborg's Karl-Erik Lang was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 92 minutes into the game, Ernst Hasselqvist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sölvesborg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Västergårds Fotbollsklubb the free kick. When Oscar Dahlbom came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Västergårds Fotbollsklubb fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oscar Dahlbom couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Sölvesborg's Ernst Hasselqvist got a free kick in the 94th minute. Kenny Eklund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Erik Lang having to interfere.
