After a defensive mix-up in Bjärnum's zone, Ian Alegren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stig-Arne Lövskog came out of the goal and Ian Alegren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Walroth in the 17th minute of play forced Bjärnum's goalkeeper Stig-Arne Lövskog to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Rätan IF booed when Bjärnum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sten Örtlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kåre Sjögren in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stig-Arne Lövskog prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 42ndth minute of the game Kåre Sjögren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bjärnum's Stig-Arne Lövskog was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ove Persson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With 53 minutes on the clock, Maximilian Bergström commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The long shot by Axel Jonasson in the 55th minute really tested Stig-Arne Lövskog's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The Rätan IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 69th match minute, Bjärnum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven-Åke Juhlin to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the match, Rätan IF's Axel Jonasson broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Mathias Pilberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rätan IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Mathias Pilberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stig-Arne Lövskog breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ian Alegren kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. 76 minutes into the game, Karl-Johan Kalfhage was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rätan IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bjärnum the free kick.
