Rickard Kielberg was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Excellent Winners's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Rickard Kielberg got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Wictor Utfal quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 10 minutes into the match, FC Excellent Winners's goal looked a bit too open when Verner Brandin came free, but George Törnkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. George Törnkvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mark Kling in the 22nd minute. Bengt Nyberg's late challenge caught a Västerås City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bengt Nyberg helped the player get up and apologised. Bengt Nyberg kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Henrik Arenstedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Törnkvist having to interfere. After having played for 36 minutes, Bengt Nyberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Excellent Winners's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bengt Nyberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Västerås City's Verner Brandin got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wictor Utfal came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Excellent Winners's Bengt Nyberg. But to his dismay, Bengt Nyberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Verner Brandin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, FC Excellent Winners's Henry Carlsson got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd minute of the match Sonny Hammarström shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but George Törnkvist showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 54 minutes into the match, FC Excellent Winners's goal looked a bit too open when Verner Brandin came free, but George Törnkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Verner Brandin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Nils-Åke Lundqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the match, FC Excellent Winners's goal looked a bit too open when Mark Kling came free, but George Törnkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 94 played minutes FC Excellent Winners got a freekick which was hit by Bengt Nyberg. Although Västerås City had been in control for most of the match, FC Excellent Winners still came away with the win.
