The Kirby Boys F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Josef Wallander should have stopped the shot. Dick Eliasson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josef Wallander having to interfere. 15 minutes into the match, Kirby Boys F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Dick Eliasson came free, but Josef Wallander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Valter Ahlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jack Kock could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Tobias Hedlund made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Smallville FC's Axel Holmstedt got a free kick in the 19th minute. The supporters of Smallville FC booed when Kirby Boys F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jack Kock didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tobias Hedlund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Georg Ros, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Erling Hedling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Josef Wallander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tobias Hedlund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Georg Ros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the match, Smallville FC's goalkeeper Tobias Hedlund had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gösta Dalström. Kirby Boys F.C.'s Josef Wallander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erling Hedling in the 38th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Kirby Boys F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Axel Holmstedt came free, but Josef Wallander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, Dick Eliasson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Josef Wallander was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Kirby Boys F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Smallville FC were winning 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dick Eliasson made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Kirby Boys F.C.'s Jack Kock nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tobias Hedlund made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. After 55 played minutes Kirby Boys F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Gösta Dalström. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erling Hedling got free with Josef Wallander in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Erling Hedling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 78 minutes into the game, Georg Ros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Tobias Hedlund was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Dick Eliasson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute Gösta Dalström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobias Hedlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Erling Hedling came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Smallville FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erling Hedling couldn't finish the play. After 90 played minutes Kirby Boys F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Gösta Dalström. Erling Hedling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Smallville FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Kirby Boys F.C. throughout the match.
