Västra Frölunda's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hässelby BK the free kick. Michael Poulsen hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. After 9 minutes, Joakim Holmgren made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Hässelby BK's Olov Brolin tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Västra Frölunda booed when Hässelby BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Nyberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Otto Linqvist made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Björn Salqvist sent off a good shot on target. Michael Poulsen scored 0-2 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Olov Brolin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Joakim Holmgren put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Olov Brolin. After a rather tough play, Hässelby BK's Hampus Sundström got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute, Joakim Holmgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Västra Frölunda booed when Hässelby BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hampus Sundström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jimmie Strand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Olov Brolin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Joakim Holmgren made a precise shot to the right of Olov Brolin. Hässelby BK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Olov Brolin came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Västra Frölunda's Joakim Holmgren. But to his dismay, Joakim Holmgren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Michael Poulsen in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olov Brolin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Olov Brolin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimmie Strand, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Jimmie Strand recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Olgierd Czekaj might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olov Brolin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Olgierd Czekaj ran back to his position shaking his head. Olov Brolin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joakim Holmgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olov Brolin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joakim Holmgren in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Leif Ekegren charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leif Ekegren the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Leif Ekegren hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Olov Brolin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joakim Holmgren in the 55th minute. Håkan Rolfsson hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Olov Brolin didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 57th minute, which inside left pole to 0-6. Olov Brolin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joakim Holmgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. The supporters of Västra Frölunda booed when Hässelby BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Håkan Rolfsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joakim Holmgren in the 69th minute of play forced Hässelby BK's goalkeeper Olov Brolin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 76 minutes into the match, Hässelby BK's goalkeeper Olov Brolin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Michael Poulsen. Joakim Holmgren did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-9 to the left of a surprised Olov Brolin 81 minutes into the match. Jimmie Strand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Olov Brolin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute of the match, Michael Poulsen tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Olov Brolin saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With his leg Olov Brolin managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when Västra Frölunda's Joakim Holmgren fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Max Bäckman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Västra Frölunda's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
