Torsten Hultstrand was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Robin Wikander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivar Kjellbom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13thth minute of the game Ivar Kjellbom who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AS Roma's Robin Wikander was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 26th minute, Jim Nordin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Robin Wikander was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. AS Roma's Robin Wikander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivar Kjellbom in the 29th minute of play. When Adrian Ennegren fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rödeby's protests and gave Adrian Ennegren a yellow card for diving instead. After 34 played minutes Rödeby got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Ennegren. AS Roma's Egon Blomqvist managed to work through Rödeby's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Egon Blomqvist dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After 48 minutes, Allan Bokelund mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rödeby and the AS Roma players grew even worse after the yellow card. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ivar Kjellbom to strike the kick off in the second half. Robin Wikander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivar Kjellbom in the 55th minute of play. Robin Wikander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian Ennegren in the 56th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the game, Ivar Kjellbom was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rödeby's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AS Roma the free kick. Fredrik Österberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Torsten Hultstrand having to interfere. Jan Knutsson hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rödeby's goalkeeper Torsten Hultstrand, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Egon Blomqvist struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Torsten Hultstrand didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AS Roma. If Jan-Erik Ståhlman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Egon Blomqvist in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Torsten Hultstrand saved Rödeby from getting behind. When Mark Nordkvist came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the AS Roma fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mark Nordkvist couldn't finish the play. In the 81st minute, Mark Nordkvist made a precise shot to the right of Torsten Hultstrand. Rödeby's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivar Kjellbom in the 91st minute of play forced AS Roma's goalkeeper Robin Wikander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 93 minutes, Ivar Kjellbom managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. There was no doubt that AS Roma were the better team. AS Roma's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
