After 12 minutes of play, Västra Frölunda's Jimmie Strand made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. During the 33rd minute of the match Mark Nordkvist completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Mark Nordkvist a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 37th minute Michael Poulsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robin Wikander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, AS Roma's goal looked a bit too open when Michael Poulsen came free, but Robin Wikander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. AS Roma's Robin Wikander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joakim Holmgren in the 42nd minute of play. Jan-Erik Ståhlman hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After 45 played minutes, Västra Frölunda's Michael Poulsen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Robin Wikander came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Västra Frölunda reached it. Västra Frölunda's Jimmie Strand got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Egon Blomqvist to make the kick off. Michael Poulsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robin Wikander having to interfere. When Jimmie Strand came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Västra Frölunda fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jimmie Strand couldn't finish the play. Robin Wikander came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Västra Frölunda's Michael Poulsen. But to his dismay, Michael Poulsen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After 63 minutes, Richard Brenner mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AS Roma and the Västra Frölunda players grew even worse after the yellow card. Richard Brenner hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Joakim Holmgren came free with the goalkeeper in the 65th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Robin Wikander could save by the left post. Robin Wikander was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Michael Poulsen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Michael Poulsen really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. AS Roma's Robin Wikander proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save AS Roma from getting a goal against them. In the 70th minute, Max Bäckman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Max Bäckman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Robin Wikander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jimmie Strand in the 78th minute of the match. Joakim Holmgren took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robin Wikander. Robin Wikander dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Västra Frölunda's Olgierd Czekaj got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Västra Frölunda's Max Bäckman got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Robin Wikander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michael Poulsen in the 93rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Joakim Holmgren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Robin Wikander was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. Robin Wikander was a little too slow when Max Bäckman got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 0-7. The AS Roma fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Västra Frölunda were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
