The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ivar Kjellbom took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Olov Brolin. Olov Brolin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Björn Salqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Torsten Hultstrand having to interfere. Rödeby's Torsten Hultstrand proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Rödeby from getting a goal against them. Rödeby's Torsten Hultstrand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Nyberg in the 11th minute of play. Marcus Nyberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Torsten Hultstrand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th match minute, Rödeby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Ennegren to maneuver through the defense. When Ola Snell fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hässelby BK's protests and gave Ola Snell a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Hässelby BK getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Ola Snell hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the match, Hässelby BK's goal looked a bit too open when Jim Nordin came free, but Olov Brolin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Hässelby BK's zone, Ivar Kjellbom stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olov Brolin came out of the goal and Ivar Kjellbom tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 21st minute, Torsten Svensson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Olov Brolin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrian Ennegren, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Rödeby's goal looked a bit too open when Björn Salqvist came free, but Torsten Hultstrand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olov Brolin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Torsten Svensson's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. If Marcus Nyberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hässelby BK's Stig-Åke Käller got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Björn Salqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torsten Svensson in the 47th minute of play forced Hässelby BK's goalkeeper Olov Brolin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Hässelby BK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rödeby were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcus Nyberg to make the kick off. Hässelby BK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Ivar Kjellbom scored to the left of an out of position Olov Brolin, making the score, 0-2. In the 57th minute, Hässelby BK's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Adrian Ennegren fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Olov Brolin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adrian Ennegren in the 59th minute. After a rather tough play, Hässelby BK's Stig-Åke Käller got a free kick in the 65th minute. 71 minutes into the match, Hässelby BK's Marcus Nyberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Torsten Hultstrand narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Rödeby's zone, Marcus Nyberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Torsten Hultstrand came out of the goal and Marcus Nyberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stig-Åke Käller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Torsten Hultstrand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcus Nyberg in the 77th minute of play. When Ivar Kjellbom came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Rödeby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivar Kjellbom couldn't finish the play. Torsten Svensson might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olov Brolin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Torsten Svensson ran back to his position shaking his head. Torsten Hultstrand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ola Snell in the 88th minute of play. In the 89th match minute, Rödeby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Ennegren to maneuver through the defense. Torsten Hultstrand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcus Nyberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. When Jim Nordin fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rödeby's protests and gave Jim Nordin a yellow card for diving instead. Torsten Hultstrand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Nyberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Rödeby players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
