After a rather tough play, Cosmopolitan FC's Karl-Åke Brenner got a free kick in the 3rd minute. When Cosmopolitan FC's Stefan Karlstedt in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Finspång FF's goalie prevented a goal. Erik Browald showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvaldo Ermano, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Osvaldo Ermano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erik Browald read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, Torsten Jonsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Erik Browald was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Osvaldo Ermano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Osvaldo Ermano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Browald having to interfere. After 22 played minutes Finspång FF got a freekick which was hit by Alfred Smed. 24 minutes into the match, Osvaldo Ermano notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Finspång FF's Erik Browald. Erik Browald was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Finspång FF's Sakarias Holmberg got a free kick in the 29th minute. The throw-in from Svante Kinell in the 33rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Finspång FF's Lennart Vacker. In the 35th minute, Osvaldo Ermano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erik Browald was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After the first half Cosmopolitan FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Torsten Jonsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cosmopolitan FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Torsten Jonsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erik Browald breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Cosmopolitan FC booed when Finspång FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per Myhr didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Osvaldo Ermano put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Erik Browald. The audience was convinced that Torsten Jonsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Erik Browald was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Cosmopolitan FC made a substitution. Tomas Skoog replaced Svante Kinell. Torsten Jonsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erik Browald read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Cosmopolitan FC were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Finspång FF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nils-Erik Gustavsson took the corner. In the 88th minute, Cosmopolitan FC's Torsten Jonsson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Erik Browald. Erik Browald yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. When the match was over Cosmopolitan FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Finspång FF throughout the match.
