Fyrkanten FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Steve Ball was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Höjden BK's Ivar Mårtensson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Höjden BK from getting a goal against them. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Steve Ball to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Steve Ball's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ivar Mårtensson was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Oskar Widberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Sven-Ove Ivarsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Oskar Widberg made a huge save. Sven-Ove Ivarsson did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-3 to the left of a surprised Oskar Widberg 77 minutes into the match. Oskar Widberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Ove Ivarsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Höjden BK's goalkeeper Ivar Mårtensson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Oskar Widberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sven-Ove Ivarsson in the 87th minute.
