Petter Strömqvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Joseph Alrot made a huge save. Sven-Ove Helberg took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Johan Berg. Johan Berg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 14 minutes into the game, Sigvard Ålberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kärrgruvan IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave IFK Bergen the free kick. In the 14th minute, Sigvard Ålberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Axel Brander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 21 minutes into the match, Emil Ekegren dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Joseph Alrot, 1-1. Jens-Erik Hård sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Jens-Erik Hård managed to get in a good position for a shot. IFK Bergen's supporters rose to their feet, but Jens-Erik Hård was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joseph Alrot breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petter Strömqvist in the 33rd minute of play forced Kärrgruvan IF's goalkeeper Joseph Alrot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 40 played minutes IFK Bergen got a freekick which was hit by Petter Strömqvist. If Emil Ekegren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Petter Strömqvist made a kick off. If Sven-Ove Helberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petter Strömqvist in the 59th minute of play forced Kärrgruvan IF's goalkeeper Joseph Alrot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A throw-in in the 62nd minute of the game was made by Sigvard Ålberg with Hannes Wikander as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After having played for 67 minutes, Mark Håkansson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. IFK Bergen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark Håkansson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 69 minutes into the match, IFK Bergen's goalkeeper Johan Berg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hannes Wikander. 70 minutes into the game, Sigvard Ålberg threw the ball into play from the sideline. IFK Bergen's Jens-Erik Hård quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 74 played minutes IFK Bergen got a freekick which was hit by Petter Strömqvist. Petter Strömqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. IFK Bergen's Jens-Erik Hård managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Sigvard Ålberg in the 79 minute of the game. 80 minutes into the match, Kärrgruvan IF's goal looked a bit too open when Petter Strömqvist came free, but Joseph Alrot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Mark Håkansson came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the IFK Bergen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mark Håkansson couldn't finish the play. IFK Bergen made a substitution. Gabriel Bergfeldt replaced Tage Sävström. If Emil Ekegren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. IFK Bergen's Freddie Strömqvist was substituted for Östen Nordin. Joseph Alrot stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Petter Strömqvist's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Petter Strömqvist in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joseph Alrot saved Kärrgruvan IF from getting behind. 93 minutes into the match, Emil Ekegren had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joseph Alrot. Kärrgruvan IF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emil Ekegren was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. IFK Bergen walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
