Åke Örtlund kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Banana Juicers's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Kunze came free, but Vilhelm Kjellbom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 16 minutes of play, Royal Excel Mouscron's Göran Bergqvist made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vilhelm Kjellbom was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vilhelm Kjellbom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Göran Bergqvist in the 23rd minute of the match. 23 minutes into the game, Ivan Igelström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Banana Juicers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Royal Excel Mouscron the free kick. After 24 played minutes Banana Juicers got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Igelström. Rudolf Brodin was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 27th minute. Banana Juicers's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Ivan Igelström hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute, Göran Bergqvist ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vilhelm Kjellbom was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Göran Bergqvist in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vilhelm Kjellbom saved Banana Juicers from getting behind. In the 44th minute Kristoffer Unesson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vilhelm Kjellbom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vilhelm Kjellbom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Kunze, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Sverker Blixt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Vilhelm Kjellbom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

With his leg Vilhelm Kjellbom managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Royal Excel Mouscron's Göran Bergqvist fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Göran Bergqvist's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Vilhelm Kjellbom firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Frank Kunze came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Royal Excel Mouscron fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Kunze couldn't finish the play. Banana Juicers made a substitution. Ivar Pilblad replaced Ivan Igelström. Göran Bergqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vilhelm Kjellbom having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 70 minutes, Vilhelm Kjellbom successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Frank Kunze took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Vilhelm Kjellbom to make any attempt to save it. 77 minutes into the match, Royal Excel Mouscron's goal looked a bit too open when Kalle Bivall came free, but Edgar Poe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 79 played minutes Banana Juicers got a freekick which was hit by Ragnar Eriksson. In the 85th minute of the match, Frank Kunze tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Vilhelm Kjellbom saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Vilhelm Kjellbom made an important save on a dangerous shot by Göran Bergqvist in the 86th minute. In the 95th minute, Göran Bergqvist made a precise shot to the right of Vilhelm Kjellbom. Banana Juicers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Royal Excel Mouscron's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
