The supporters of FC Bors booed when BK Häcken was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Omar Azibar didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the game, Feliks Byczewski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BK Häcken's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Bors the free kick. Feliks Byczewski kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. During this time FC Bors's players had a chance to rest. Karl-Magnus Sjöö made a great header on FC Bors's corner, it was just that BK Häcken's Dirk-Jan Koole managed to reach the ball for a save. Dirk-Jan Koole came out of the goal and Karl-Magnus Sjöö tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to FC Bors getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Jarl Tinglöf hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicolas Anelka got free with Henry Örnberg in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Olov Björklund was the one to do the kick off. FC Bors's Henry Örnberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olov Björklund in the 53rd minute of play. In the 61stth minute of the game Karl-Magnus Sjöö who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BK Häcken's Dirk-Jan Koole was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Pietro Savastano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Bors's Erling Pilblad was substituted for Joar Albohm. Henry Örnberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Feliks Byczewski in the 75th minute of the match. Anton Ivarsson kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute Karl-Magnus Sjöö shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dirk-Jan Koole saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dirk-Jan Koole made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Kjell Engström sent off a good shot on target. BK Häcken's Dirk-Jan Koole played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Magnus Sjöö in the 86th minute of play. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The BK Häcken fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Bors had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
