Folke Grelsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Herman Helström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the IFK Vinkel defense, Ivar Persson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Herman Helström. The IFK Vinkel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Herman Helström should have stopped the shot. 20 minutes into the match, Thor Borre notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Kolsva FK's Niclas Vennerdal. Niclas Vennerdal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. IFK Vinkel's Thor Borre got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Niclas Vennerdal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bertil Sefastsson in the 28th minute of play. Bertil Sefastsson took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Niclas Vennerdal. Niclas Vennerdal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Sven Gudmundsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. IFK Vinkel's supporters rose to their feet, but Sven Gudmundsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Niclas Vennerdal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 39th minute, Ivar Persson made a precise shot to the right of Herman Helström. IFK Vinkel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Herman Helström made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Ivar Persson sent off a good shot on target. 44 minutes into the game, Tage Lundberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kolsva FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave IFK Vinkel the free kick. After 44 played minutes Kolsva FK got a freekick which was hit by Tage Lundberg. Niclas Vennerdal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thor Borre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

IFK Vinkel's Per Lindkvist was substituted for Viktor Wall. Bertil Sefastsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Herman Helström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivar Persson in the 58th minute of the match. Ivar Persson might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Herman Helström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Herman Helström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ivar Persson's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Kolsva FK fans cheered their team off the field, for while IFK Vinkel had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
