When the match clock showed 43 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Andy Söderqvist sped through Larsberg's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Börje Sjöström. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fredrik Blom made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Reine Månsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Börje Sjöström was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Reine Månsson put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Börje Sjöström. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 8-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Berglund got free with August Thidén in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
