The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gabriel Törnblom during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Leif Skark had in the 7thth minute some difficulties stopping Valdemar Carlsson's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raimundo Rey got free with Leif Skark in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Erik Björklund fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Proteinshejk's protests and gave Erik Björklund a yellow card for diving instead. After 11 played minutes FC Proteinshejk got a freekick which was hit by Erik Björklund. Raimundo Rey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Leif Skark made a huge save. Francois Keuppens made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Leif Skark made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Raimundo Rey sent off a good shot on target. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carl Simonsson made a kick off. Raimundo Rey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leif Skark having to interfere. The FC Proteinshejk supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Proteinshejk would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
