Jan Power's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sven Pihlwall read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Börje Ek's late challenge caught a Ljungdalen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Börje Ek helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to SC Dynamo Berlin 1966 getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Börje Ek hit a great ball. In the 26th minute Jan Power shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven Pihlwall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Stig Nyman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jan Power came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the SC Dynamo Berlin 1966 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan Power couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Ljungdalen's Sven Pihlwall got control of the ball when Jan Power tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ljungdalen's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Tales Machado scored to the left of an out of position Sven Pihlwall, making the score, 1-0. Nicklas Sandberg scored 1-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sven-Edvin Sundström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alf Pettersson to make the kick off. Sven Pihlwall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Power, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. But to his dismay, Tales Machado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 71 minutes into the match, Ljungdalen's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Power came free, but Sven Pihlwall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ljungdalen's Sven Pihlwall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Power in the 75th minute of play. After some careless play in the Ljungdalen defense, Jan Power kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sven Pihlwall. The Ljungdalen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sven Pihlwall should have stopped the shot. Jan Power struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Sven Pihlwall didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Dynamo Berlin 1966. After 81 minutes of play, SC Dynamo Berlin 1966's Jan Power made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sven Pihlwall was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 85th minute of the match Ljungdalen got a corner. SC Dynamo Berlin 1966's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alf Pettersson ran over to the corner to take the kick. The referee felt a red card was in order, 88 minutes into the game, when Patrik Löfgren put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 87th minute of the game. One of Ljungdalen:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Dynamo Berlin 1966:s goal. Jan Power blasted a shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sven Pihlwall having to make a save. SC Dynamo Berlin 1966's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
