After 20 played minutes Durgas springpojkar got a freekick which was hit by Jonatan Hurtig. FC Frölunda's attentive Gabriel Åkesson managed to snatch the ball when Thor Andersson made a throw-in in the 21st minute of the game. In the 23rd minute, Marcus Ennegren reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jimmy Adie. The goal made the score 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karl-Magnus Martinsson in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benjamin Abelsson saved Durgas springpojkar from getting behind. Sören Tillman struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Jimmy Adie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Durgas springpojkar. After having played for 30 minutes, Jörgen Nordström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Frölunda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jörgen Nordström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 35 minutes into the match, FC Frölunda's goalkeeper Jimmy Adie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcus Ennegren. 37 minutes in the game Ernst Lidström did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Marcus Ennegren. Benjamin Abelsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William de Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvar Björk in the 43rd minute of play forced FC Frölunda's goalkeeper Jimmy Adie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jörgen Nordström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Abelsson having to interfere. Jimmy Adie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvar Björk in the 46th minute of play. When Alvar Björk fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Durgas springpojkar's protests and gave Alvar Björk a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC Frölunda booed when Durgas springpojkar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvar Björk didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Jonatan Hurtig's late challenge caught a FC Frölunda's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonatan Hurtig helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd minute, Jonatan Hurtig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benjamin Abelsson made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Karl-Magnus Martinsson sent off a good shot on target. Benjamin Abelsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William de Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When FC Frölunda's Karl-Magnus Martinsson in 62 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Marcus Ennegren might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jimmy Adie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 90th minute Alvar Björk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jimmy Adie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Alvar Björk was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 98 minutes had been played.
