The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Holger Lindqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Västerhaninge's Tobias Walroth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Holger Lindqvist in the 4th minute of play. Nils Flinck hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. When Hammarby IF's Holger Lindqvist in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Västerhaninge's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Patric Dahlberg during the 10th minute. Tobias Walroth stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Holger Lindqvist's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. The audience was convinced that Holger Lindqvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tobias Walroth was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. When Inge Valler came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Hammarby IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inge Valler couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Holger Lindqvist in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tobias Walroth saved Västerhaninge from getting behind. Tobias Walroth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pontus Åhman, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Tobias Walroth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Holger Lindqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 45 minutes, Holger Lindqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hammarby IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Holger Lindqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emil Grönberg made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Nils Flinck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Sikström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Holger Lindqvist who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 58thth minute tested the skills of Tobias Walroth when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tobias Walroth stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Holger Lindqvist's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. After 69 played minutes Västerhaninge got a freekick which was hit by Kenneth Alströmmer. After having played for 70 minutes, Holger Lindqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hammarby IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Holger Lindqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emil Grönberg hit a great ball. 77 minutes into the game, Hammarby IF's Pontus Åhman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tobias Walroth made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Holger Lindqvist put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Tobias Walroth. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Holger Lindqvist in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tobias Walroth prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tobias Walroth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Holger Lindqvist in the 85th minute of play. When the match clock showed 86 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Holger Lindqvist sped through Västerhaninge's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tobias Walroth. The Västerhaninge fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Hammarby IF were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
