The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vilhelm Kvist in the 5th minute of play forced IFK Kik's goalkeeper Folke Gabrielsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vilhelm Kvist scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Folke Gabrielsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Osvald Backlund hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute of the match, Zacarias Nerio got a very nice opportunity to score, but Esbjörn Lindell was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 13 minutes into the match, Flock of Eagles's Vilhelm Kvist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Folke Gabrielsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 18th minute, Jan-Erik Heggert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Folke Gabrielsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sabin Mergea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute, Zacarias Nerio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Esbjörn Lindell was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. If Güral Revan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flock of Eagles's Esbjörn Lindell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 王适伟 in the 41st minute of play. Sabin Mergea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Folke Gabrielsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when 王适伟 made the kick off in the second half. Flock of Eagles's Esbjörn Lindell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zacarias Nerio in the 52nd minute of play. Patricio Servando's late challenge caught a Flock of Eagles's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patricio Servando helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, IFK Kik's Patricio Servando got a free kick in the 55th minute. Osvald Backlund hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Esbjörn Lindell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zacarias Nerio in the 58th minute of play. 58 minutes into the game, IFK Kik's Zacarias Nerio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Esbjörn Lindell made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Folke Gabrielsson made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Sabin Mergea sent off a good shot on target. Folke Gabrielsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sabin Mergea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Güral Revan during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 65 played minutes IFK Kik got a freekick which was hit by Güral Revan. After a defensive mix-up in IFK Kik's zone, Joacim Jonsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Folke Gabrielsson came out of the goal and Joacim Jonsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sabin Mergeas short, quick shot in the 69thth minute got Folke Gabrielsson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Esbjörn Lindell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 王适伟, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If 王适伟 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the game, Joacim Jonsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Flock of Eagles's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave IFK Kik the free kick. A collision led to Flock of Eagles getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Joacim Jonsson hit a great ball. In the 84th minute 王适伟 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esbjörn Lindell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When 王适伟 came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the IFK Kik fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that 王适伟 couldn't finish the play. A hard shot 93 in the game by Sabin Mergea from a close distance when the talented Folke Gabrielsson managed to make a qualified save. IFK Kik's players were relieved. Vilhelm Kvist might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Folke Gabrielsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vilhelm Kvist ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The IFK Kik fans cheered their team off the field, for while Flock of Eagles had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
