The audience was convinced that Fredric Björkqvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Agne Målare was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Betsydamlag's Kjell Browald got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 26 played minutes Betsydamlag got a freekick which was hit by Otto Påk. Kurt Bergendahl recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Helge Thedin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mats Fredriksson was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 36th minute. Sumpan FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Bertil Ekerot didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Sumpan FC's Sverker Vacker tried to score from far away in the 48th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kjell Browald was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute of the match Betsydamlag got a corner. Sumpan FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Björn Billvall ran over to the corner to take the kick. Helge Thedin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
