Storfors AIK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Täfte Flyers the free kick. The supporters of Storfors AIK booed when Täfte Flyers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hjalmar Pedersson didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kent Lenberg in the 8th minute of play forced Täfte Flyers's goalkeeper Olof Eriksson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 played minutes Täfte Flyers got a freekick which was hit by Rikard Myhr. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Täfte Flyers's goalkeeper Olof Eriksson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 21 minutes into the game, Kent Lenberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Olof Eriksson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 23rd match minute, Storfors AIK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cosme Caitano to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobias Vester in the 24th minute of play forced Storfors AIK's goalkeeper Peter Shilton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tobias Vester fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Shilton having to interfere. Täfte Flyers's Olof Eriksson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kent Lenberg in the 34th minute of play. Michael Kilström struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Peter Shilton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Täfte Flyers. Peter Shilton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rikard Myhr, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tobias Vester received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Peter Shilton came out and tried to block the shot, but Tobias Vester slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 39th minute. Olof Eriksson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jim Beneth, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Peter Shilton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Michael Kilström in the 47th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tobias Vester to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Storfors AIK's zone, Michael Kilström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Shilton came out of the goal and Michael Kilström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Storfors AIK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 60th minute. Penalty! A collision led to Täfte Flyers getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Hjalmar Pedersson hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Jim Beneth's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olof Eriksson was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. In the 73rd match minute, Täfte Flyers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Kilström to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Täfte Flyers's Pär Alebom got a free kick in the 75th minute. If Jim Beneth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Tobias Vester came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Täfte Flyers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tobias Vester couldn't finish the play. Pär Alebom hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute, Emanuel Giliusson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 93 minutes into the match, Storfors AIK's David Bergman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olof Eriksson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Michael Kilström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Storfors AIK were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
