Tobias Ekeberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Călin Sântimbrean read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Emanuel Sigfridsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pål Sellberg in the 15th minute. Călin Sântimbrean came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by IKS Norrköping's Tobias Ekeberg. But to his dismay, Tobias Ekeberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 24 played minutes BumbleBee BoIS got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Olof Apelqvist. In the 25th minute Tobias Ekeberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Călin Sântimbrean saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, IKS Norrköping's Emanuel Sigfridsson got control of the ball when Pål Sellberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of IKS Norrköping booed when BumbleBee BoIS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven-Olof Apelqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, BumbleBee BoIS's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Dahlman came free, but Călin Sântimbrean reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Marcus Hedström had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Călin Sântimbrean. BumbleBee BoIS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcus Hedström was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Marcus Hedström might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Călin Sântimbrean. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcus Hedström ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcus Hedström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Călin Sântimbrean tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Tobias Ekeberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The IKS Norrköping fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After 50 played minutes IKS Norrköping got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Rosendal. Felix Linqvist, 51 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Marcus Hedström in the 53rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Călin Sântimbrean, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Emanuel Sigfridsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pål Sellberg in the 55th minute of the match. Călin Sântimbrean showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tobias Ekeberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Evert Finman during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to IKS Norrköping getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Marcus Hedström hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcus Hedström got free with Călin Sântimbrean in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Lars Sörman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Călin Sântimbrean showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars Sörman, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. IKS Norrköping played a much better game than BumbleBee BoIS and deserved their victory. The BumbleBee BoIS players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
