Spectators: 7682 (Terracing: 5762, Seating: 1767, VIP seats: 153) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Mikael Forsberg kicked off to start the match. After a defensive mix-up in Hornstull IK's zone, Johannes Lundblad stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leif Ahlroht came out of the goal and Johannes Lundblad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Melker Björck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 8 played minutes Portalens FK got a freekick which was hit by Mikael Forsberg. The supporters of Hornstull IK booed when Portalens FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jörgen Jönsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mikael Forsberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leif Ahlroht. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mikael Forsberg ran back to his position shaking his head. 17 minutes into the match, Hornstull IK's goal looked a bit too open when Stig-Ove Hjortberg came free, but Leif Ahlroht reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hornstull IK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Johannes Lundblad was slow to take the kick. During this time Portalens FK's players had a chance to rest. Johannes Lundblad made a great header on Portalens FK's corner, it was just that Hornstull IK's Leif Ahlroht managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 20th minute, Johannes Lundblad got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Portalens FK's Mikael Forsberg got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 24th match minute, Hornstull IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Fino to maneuver through the defense. Hornstull IK's Leif Ahlroht played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stig-Ove Hjortberg in the 28th minute of play. In the 34th match minute, Hornstull IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emil Dahlkvist to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Hornstull IK getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Josef Täman hit a great ball. Stig-Ove Hjortberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Simon Blumentritt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Evert Sjögren went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Evert Sjögren was the one to do the kick off. Leif Ahlroht made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johannes Lundblad in the 52nd minute of play. Johannes Lundblad could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Leif Ahlroht made a huge save. Georg Ahlquist hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Jesper Sundström kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Simon Blumentritt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evert Sjögren in the 61st minute of the match. Leif Ahlroht made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stig-Ove Hjortberg in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd play minute Stig-Ove Hjortberg came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Leif Ahlroht. 1-2. In the 67th minute Mikael Forsberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leif Ahlroht saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Johannes Lundblad notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Hornstull IK's Leif Ahlroht. Leif Ahlroht was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Mikael Forsberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portalens FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Mikael Forsberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leif Ahlroht breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 87th minute, Portalens FK's Stig-Ove Hjortberg ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Leif Ahlroht. Leif Ahlroht yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. In the 92nd minute, Melker Björck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Josef Täman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Portalens FK's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
