Tuncay Cansever blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nils Björklund having to make a save. In the 15th minute Hannes Bennet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Håkan Söderberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tuncay Cansever's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nils Björklund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. When Tuncay Cansever, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 29 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Nils Björklund was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tuncay Cansever in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nils Björklund saved Filipstad BK from getting behind. If Tuncay Cansever had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nils Björklund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tuncay Cansever, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tuncay Cansever scored 3-0 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nils Björklund, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Torbjörn Alin made in the 45th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Michael Fanström immediately put the ball in play. In the 46th minute, Nicklas Karlberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Håkan Söderberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roy Ström in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eric Bogren stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Tuncay Cansever managed to get in a good position for a shot. Degerfors IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Tuncay Cansever was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nils Björklund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Åke Fors sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Åke Fors received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Nils Björklund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute of the game Dorian Félix made a throw-in which Nicklas Karlberg played forward. Håkan Söderberg made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Hannes Bennet sent off a good shot on target. Åke Fors received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Nils Björklund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Eric Bogren in the 74th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 77 minutes into the match, Degerfors IF's goal looked a bit too open when Hannes Bennet came free, but Håkan Söderberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Åke Fors came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Degerfors IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Åke Fors couldn't finish the play. Fredrik Isak charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fredrik Isak the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Åke Fors had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Åke Fors struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Nils Björklund didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Degerfors IF. A collision led to Filipstad BK getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Dorian Félix hit a great ball. Åke Fors scored 4-0 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nils Björklund, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Filipstad BK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Degerfors IF.
