Roy Ström took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bengt-Åke Carlsson. Bengt-Åke Carlsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 8 minutes into the match, Filipstad BK's goalkeeper Nils Björklund had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaf Wallmark. Michael Fanström charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Michael Fanström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 16th minute, Michael Fanström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eric Bogren during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 18 played minutes Filipstad BK got a freekick which was hit by Eric Bogren. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 27th minute of the game. One of Gandalfs IF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Filipstad BK:s goal. Bengt-Åke Carlsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Ström, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eric Bogren in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bengt-Åke Carlsson saved Gandalfs IF from getting behind. After some careless play in the Gandalfs IF defense, Eric Bogren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bengt-Åke Carlsson. The Gandalfs IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bengt-Åke Carlsson should have stopped the shot. The attack was good, but when Eric Bogren in the 39th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 2-3 became the score in the 46th minute when Harry Hägglund elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The Gandalfs IF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Filipstad BK were winning 2-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gustaf Wallmark made a kick off. Hannes Bennet hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Harry Hägglund in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nils Björklund saved Filipstad BK from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Roy Ström kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bengt-Åke Carlsson. That made the score 2-4 in the 59 minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Eric Bogren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Filipstad BK's Roy Ström got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gandalfs IF's defense didn't have a chance, in the 71st minute, when Roy Ström scored to the left of an out of position Bengt-Åke Carlsson, making the score, 2-5. The audience was convinced that Gustaf Wallmark's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nils Björklund was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Ahmet Ege Mevlit received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Nils Björklund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bengt-Åke Carlsson made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Hannes Bennet sent off a good shot on target. Hans Lindmark was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 93 minutes into the match. After 91 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gandalfs IF!
