The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Kvarnby IK booed when Hammarby IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Han Van Aken didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kvarnby IK's Gösta Nilsson got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 6 minutes into the match, Kvarnby IK's goalkeeper Iwo Szotek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hao Jian Yue. Daniel Hök took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonas Sander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hao Jian Yue recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Okoli Okiche in the 19th minute of play forced Kvarnby IK's goalkeeper Iwo Szotek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hammarby IF's Daniel Hök played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Linus Flink in the 22nd minute of play. Hao Jian Yue came free with the goalkeeper in the 25th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Iwo Szotek could save by the left post. In the 32nd minute, Jonas Sander made a precise shot to the right of Daniel Hök. Hammarby IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 39 minutes into the game, Gösta Nilsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kvarnby IK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hammarby IF the free kick. Hao Jian Yue fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iwo Szotek having to interfere. After having played for 45 minutes, Hao Jian Yue managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hammarby IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hao Jian Yue was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an all-out effort, Hammarby IF's Iwo Szotek threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Okoli Okiche, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hao Jian Yue to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes of play, Hammarby IF's Okoli Okiche made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iwo Szotek was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Sixten Wickander got free with Daniel Hök in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kvarnby IK's Iwo Szotek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Okoli Okiche in the 57th minute of play. In the 60th minute Jan-Olof Finsberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iwo Szotek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Okoli Okiche received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Iwo Szotek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iwo Szotek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hao Jian Yue in the 63rd minute of the match. Kvarnby IK's Iwo Szotek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hao Jian Yue in the 66th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Olof Finsberg in the 68th minute of play forced Kvarnby IK's goalkeeper Iwo Szotek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan-Olof Finsberg struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Iwo Szotek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hammarby IF. Hammarby IF's Daniel Hök played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Sander in the 78th minute of play. Iwo Szotek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Okoli Okiche in the 81st minute of play. Iwo Szotek didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Okoli Okiche went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score.
