The audience thought a goal was coming when Alf Ahlkvist got free with Emanuele Fioriti in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Emanuele Fioriti made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Alf Ahlkvist sent off a good shot on target. Alf Ahlkvist who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Emanuele Fioriti when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gröngölingarnas IF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jesper Hägert in the 19th minute. After 20 played minutes FK Ekebo got a freekick which was hit by Georg Hegg. After having played for 21 minutes, Alf Ahlkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gröngölingarnas IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alf Ahlkvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jimmy Lilja showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Bermudo in the 26th minute of the match. In the 29th match minute, FK Ekebo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stig Grubb to maneuver through the defense. If Alf Ahlkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuele Fioriti made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Fortunato Galliani sent off a good shot on target. 44 minutes into the game, FK Ekebo's Stig Grubb nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jimmy Lilja made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edgard Bermudo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Karl-Ove Överman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuele Fioriti having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Alf Ahlkvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emanuele Fioriti was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Karl-Ove Överman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Emanuele Fioriti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FK Ekebo made a substitution. German Nafarroa replaced Kenneth Kamel. Emanuele Fioriti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl-Ove Överman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind FK Ekebo's goalkeeper Emanuele Fioriti, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 74th minute, German Nafarroa made a precise shot to the right of Jimmy Lilja. Gröngölingarnas IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. With a little luck, Gröngölingarnas IF's Jimmy Lilja got control of the ball when Nestor Baraquiel tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard Bermudo in the 78th minute of play forced Gröngölingarnas IF's goalkeeper Jimmy Lilja to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emanuele Fioriti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alf Ahlkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emanuele Fioriti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Fastesson in the 84th minute of the match. In the 87th minute Fortunato Galliani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuele Fioriti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emanuele Fioriti came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Gröngölingarnas IF's Karl-Ove Överman. But to his dismay, Karl-Ove Överman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Jimmy Lilja made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when German Nafarroa sent off a good shot on target. In the 96th minute Lars Björk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jimmy Lilja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FK Ekebo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
