An unexpectedly hard shot by Douglas Lööf in the 15th minute of play forced Björnlunda IF's goalkeeper Rickard Dalström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Björnlunda IF's Rickard Dalström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Björnlunda IF from getting a goal against them. Rickard Dalström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stefan Hjortsberg during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After the first half Björnlunda IF were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andreas Åhlberg was the one to do the kick off.
