The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ingemar Bergfeldt made the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 56 minutes, Olle Mellberg successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Rasmus Säf made a great header on Vimmerby's corner, it was just that Väderstad FK's Olle Mellberg managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edvin Holmgren in the 61st minute of play forced Vimmerby's goalkeeper Lázaro Lorencio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot by Rasmus Säf from long distance, 93 minutes into the match, got Olle Mellberg's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After a defensive mix-up in Vimmerby's zone, Östen Forsberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lázaro Lorencio came out of the goal and Östen Forsberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 96th minute Ingemar Bergfeldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olle Mellberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
