MAFFIAN's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Färnäs the free kick. Wiktor Qvarnström hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After 6 played minutes Färnäs got a freekick which was hit by Wilhelm Jansson. After 7 played minutes Jean-Claude Van Damme rounded Färnäs's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. After some careless play in the MAFFIAN defense, Wiktor Qvarnström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kjell-Arne Hultman. The MAFFIAN fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kjell-Arne Hultman should have stopped the shot. Henry Hjortberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kjell-Arne Hultman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. 16 minutes into the game, Färnäs's Henry Hjortberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kjell-Arne Hultman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After some careless play in the MAFFIAN defense, Bengt-Arne Simonsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kjell-Arne Hultman. The MAFFIAN fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kjell-Arne Hultman should have stopped the shot. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind MAFFIAN's goalkeeper Kjell-Arne Hultman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Färnäs's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Petter Ryberg in the 26th minute. In the 28th minute Henry Hjortberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kjell-Arne Hultman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of MAFFIAN booed when Färnäs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tommy Käller didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st minute, Jim Nilsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kjell-Arne Hultman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petter Ryberg in the 35th minute of play. Tommy Käller fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kjell-Arne Hultman having to interfere. Kjell-Arne Hultman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petter Ryberg in the 42nd minute of the match. Arnold Schwarzenegger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Bertil Hellgren made a huge save. After the first half Färnäs were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Tommy Käller made the kick off in the second half. Bertil Hellgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean-Claude Van Damme, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Kjell-Arne Hultman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry Hjortberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bengt-Arne Simonsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 58th play minutes Wiktor Qvarnström shot 1-4, a short shot which went by Kjell-Arne Hultman and just under the crossbar into goal. Henry Hjortberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kjell-Arne Hultman having to make a save. In the 66th minute, Jean-Claude Van Damme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Jean-Claude Van Damme's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bertil Hellgren was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Bengt-Arne Simonsson hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. MAFFIAN's Jim Nilsson suffered a sore thigh after 86 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Henry Hjortberg's late challenge caught a MAFFIAN's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henry Hjortberg helped the player get up and apologised. Henry Hjortberg kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Tommy Käller's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kjell-Arne Hultman was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. 91 minutes into the match, MAFFIAN's goalkeeper Kjell-Arne Hultman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tommy Käller. Färnäs's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
