Rudolf Rolfsson started the match with the kick off. Jan-Erik Hellsing showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henry Hjortberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. After 11 minutes of play, Färnäs's Henry Hjortberg made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jan-Erik Hellsing was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rudolf Rolfsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Bertil Hellgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute Sten Pil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bertil Hellgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan-Erik Hellsing made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henry Hjortberg in the 23rd minute of play. In the 26th minute, Patric Elg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Färnäs fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Bertil Hellgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sten Pil, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sten Pil in the 35th minute of play forced Färnäs's goalkeeper Bertil Hellgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rudolf Rolfsson got free with Bertil Hellgren in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, Färnäs's Jan-Erik Hellsing threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Henry Hjortberg, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 60 minutes Färnäs's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bengt-Rune Heggert who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Andreas Wallin managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 72nd match minute, Helsingborgs IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Iacovella to maneuver through the defense. After 74 played minutes Henry Hjortberg rounded Helsingborgs IF's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. Bertil Hellgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sten Pil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Helsingborgs IF's Sten Pil got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 86th minute, Petter Ryberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Bengt-Rune Heggert managed to get in a good position for a shot. Helsingborgs IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Bengt-Rune Heggert was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bertil Hellgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Helsingborgs IF's Aktuğ Olcay got a free kick in the 89th minute. Färnäs's Bertil Hellgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rudolf Rolfsson in the 94th minute of play.
