In the 11th minute of the match, Aktuğ Olcay got a very nice opportunity to score, but Mattias Valström was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 14th match minute, Granarna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leif Hellgren to maneuver through the defense. Jan-Erik Hellsing showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Måns Beckeman, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute, Rudolf Rolfsson made a precise shot to the right of Mattias Valström. Granarna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Christian Skoglund struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Jan-Erik Hellsing didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Granarna. 33 minutes into the match, Granarna's goalkeeper Mattias Valström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kjell-Arne Kellman. Michael Asklöv hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute Bengt-Rune Heggert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Valström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Alexander Blanck was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Granarna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Helsingborgs IF the free kick. Alexander Blanck hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match.

The wind increased when Christian Skoglund made the kick off in the second half. If Christian Skoglund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 56 played minutes Granarna got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Gorosti. With a little luck, Helsingborgs IF's Jan-Erik Hellsing got control of the ball when Christian Skoglund tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mattias Valström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aktuğ Olcay's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Måns Beckeman struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. In the 76th minute of the match Granarna got a corner. Helsingborgs IF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Konrad Dunajski ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mariano Gorosti was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Mattias Valström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aktuğ Olcay in the 79th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Sten Pil ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mattias Valström was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Helsingborgs IF's Folke Gadd was substituted for Andreas Wallin. After 86 minutes of play, Helsingborgs IF's Kjell-Arne Kellman made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mattias Valström was left in no man's land by his defense there! Helsingborgs IF's Jan-Erik Hellsing proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Helsingborgs IF from getting a goal against them. 91 minutes into the game, Måns Beckeman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The supporters of Helsingborgs IF booed when Granarna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position.
