The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelinho Gonçalves got free with Mark Granström in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Skogsbackens IK getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Juste Sapp hit a great ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Garcés to make the kick off. In the 95th minute Casper Sundström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark Granström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Newcastle United FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
