With a left leg Åke Stål saved Hartlepool from getting behind. Åke Stål made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Koppány Novák in the 4th minute of play. Fredrik Bäckström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt Blixt in the 9th minute of play. Hartlepool's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hasan Hüseyin Orak in the 15th minute. Hartlepool's Åke Stål played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Bagge in the 17th minute of play. Michal Zawada lost his temper 19 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. A collision led to Hawelka Himalayan High getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Michal Zawada hit a great ball. In the 21st match minute, Hartlepool was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bosse Blond to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rdth minute of the game Fabian Fager who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hawelka Himalayan High's Fredrik Bäckström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fredrik Bäckström came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Hartlepool's Ralf Rask. But to his dismay, Ralf Rask quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. With a little luck, Hawelka Himalayan High's Fredrik Bäckström got control of the ball when Ralf Rask tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fredrik Bäckström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt Blixt in the 31st minute of play. Hasan Hüseyin Orak who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Fredrik Bäckström when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 43 minutes into the match, Hawelka Himalayan High's goalkeeper Fredrik Bäckström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hasan Hüseyin Orak. 44 minutes into the game, Ralf Rask cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Fredrik Bäckström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fredrik Bäckström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Fager, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the game, Hartlepool's Fabian Fager nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fredrik Bäckström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 59th minute Hasan Hüseyin Orak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fredrik Bäckström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fredrik Bäckström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ralf Rask in the 65th minute of the match. Fredrik Bäckström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frans Frisk, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Hartlepool's Frans Frisk managed to work through Hawelka Himalayan High's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Frans Frisk dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frans Frisk in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fredrik Bäckström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Frans Frisk put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Fredrik Bäckström. After 70 minutes of play, Hartlepool's Bengt Blixt made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fredrik Bäckström was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 73rdth minute of the game Hasan Hüseyin Orak who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hawelka Himalayan High's Fredrik Bäckström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Karl-Erik Collin charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Karl-Erik Collin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Hartlepool booed when Hawelka Himalayan High was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl-Erik Collin didn't get a good kick on the ball.
