The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Smurfarna got a freekick which was hit by Elliott Dalman. Kurt Klementsson hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Joacim Erserman was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 8 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Azemis FF fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 8th minute. Penalty! After 13 minutes of play, Smurfarna's Tord Gustafsson made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sverker Nordmark was left in no man's land by his defense there! Roger Busk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute, Elliott Dalman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tord Gustafsson in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sverker Nordmark saved Azemis FF from getting behind. After some careless play in the Azemis FF defense, Tord Gustafsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sverker Nordmark. The Azemis FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sverker Nordmark should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Arne Askstedt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Smurfarna's supporters rose to their feet, but Arne Askstedt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sverker Nordmark breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 31st minute Smurfarna were awarded a corner. Staffan Glanselius went to the cornerflag to take it. 34 minutes into the game, Roger Busk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Azemis FF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Smurfarna the free kick. A collision led to Azemis FF getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Roger Busk hit a great ball. In the 36th minute Jens Björling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sverker Nordmark saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38thth minute of the game Tord Gustafsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Azemis FF's Sverker Nordmark was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sverker Nordmark made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jens Björling in the 39th minute of play. Tord Gustafsson scored 0-4 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sverker Nordmark, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sverker Nordmark showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tord Gustafsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 45th match minute, Azemis FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Svante Bergqvist to maneuver through the defense. Jens Björling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Sverker Nordmark tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tord Gustafsson made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Smurfarna's Tord Gustafsson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. After 55 played minutes Azemis FF got a freekick which was hit by Jörn Kellbom. Sverker Nordmark was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Staffan Glanselius. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Jens Björling put it in 0-6 from a short distance just to the right of Sverker Nordmark. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jens Björling got free with Sverker Nordmark in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 64 minutes into the game, Smurfarna's Tord Gustafsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sverker Nordmark made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-8. A collision led to Azemis FF getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Svante Bergqvist hit a great ball. After having played for 67 minutes, Staffan Glanselius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Smurfarna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Staffan Glanselius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tord Gustafsson in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sverker Nordmark prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jens Björling could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Sverker Nordmark made a huge save. Sverker Nordmark made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tord Gustafsson in the 75th minute of play. Smurfarna's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Staffan Glanselius in the 79th minute. With his leg Sverker Nordmark managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when Smurfarna's Jens Björling fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Smurfarna's Tord Gustafsson in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Azemis FF's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tord Gustafsson in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sverker Nordmark saved Azemis FF from getting behind. Tord Gustafsson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 85thth minute, Sverker Nordmark skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jens Björling made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 86thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Sverker Nordmark would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. The audience was convinced that Tord Gustafsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sverker Nordmark was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. The supporters of Smurfarna booed when Azemis FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Jansson didn't get a good kick on the ball.
