In the 9th minute Gylippus Galitsis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ralf Bergman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Kristian Bern kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ralf Bergman. That made the score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. If Daidalos Rigatos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 16th minute Jan-Åke Vennerberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvin Olsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the FC Köln defense, Arne Lingren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edvin Olsson. The FC Köln fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edvin Olsson should have stopped the shot. Edvin Olsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arne Lingren, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Edvin Olsson didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Goa Gubbar FK's Jan-Åke Vennerberg shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-2 in the ordered_time% minute. The supporters of FC Köln booed when Goa Gubbar FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tage Lund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edvin Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Åke Vennerberg in the 41st minute of play. Manos Cholas hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Edvin Olsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan-Åke Vennerberg in the 46th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arne Lingren to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Goa Gubbar FK's Arne Lingren slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Edvin Olsson. That made the score 1-4 after 54 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Åke Vennerberg in the 56th minute of play forced FC Köln's goalkeeper Edvin Olsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ralf Bergman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gylippus Galitsis in the 61st minute of play. In the 67th minute Gylippus Galitsis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ralf Bergman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gylippus Galitsis in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ralf Bergman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Arne Lingren's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 69thth minute, Edvin Olsson skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 76 minutes into the match, FC Köln's goalkeeper Edvin Olsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arne Lingren. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Goa Gubbar FK's goalkeeper Ralf Bergman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. FC Köln's Edvin Olsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save FC Köln from getting a goal against them. Gylippus Galitsis struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Ralf Bergman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Köln.
