When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Zula Gardocki put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Kaj Hellgren. Ingvar Fristedt's late challenge caught a Al-Kungshöjd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After the first half Håverud were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Sven-Edvin Naredi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ingvar Fristedt was shown his second yellow card after 55 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 60th minute Zula Gardocki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kaj Hellgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
