After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Ivar Wennersten managed to get in a good position for a shot. RedBull Antwerpen's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivar Wennersten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osvald Alin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivar Wennersten, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lars Högman during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 82nd minute, Åke Holmberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute of the match Oliver Carlsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Osvald Alin skillfully saved the ball. In the 86th match minute, RedBull Antwerpen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Henriksson to maneuver through the defense. Ivar Wennersten recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Karl-Michael Lindström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Osvald Alin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. RedBull Antwerpen's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
