Manfred Vennerkvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Leif Olsson made a huge save. After some careless play in the FC Kenta defense, Roger Gustavsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leif Olsson. The FC Kenta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leif Olsson should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roger Gustavsson got free with Leif Olsson in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leif Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Fastesson in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfred Vennerkvist in the 19th minute of play forced FC Kenta's goalkeeper Leif Olsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, FC Kenta's Leif Olsson got control of the ball when Greger Jonsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leif Olsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manfred Vennerkvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 44th minute Arvid Springfält shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gábor Kálmán saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the game, FC Kenta's Attila Pálosi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

In the 60th match minute, Åhagen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ingmar Mellberg to maneuver through the defense. Ingmar Mellberg hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Åhagen FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
