In the 6th match minute, Ruda if was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elia Santoro to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Ruda if's Gösta Lindström threw himself towards the right post 9 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Thijs Thys, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 10th minute, Thijs Thys ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gösta Lindström was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Ruda if's Michel Finman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boris Bern in the 14th minute of play. Michel Finman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrik Ros in the 22nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thijs Thys in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gösta Lindström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ove Hellqvist's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gösta Lindström firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Alström in the 33rd minute of play forced Ruda if's goalkeeper Michel Finman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robert Alström to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Damian Andrzejewski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 52nd minute, Dag Dahlbom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gösta Lindström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ove Hellqvist in the 55th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Gothia AIS's goal looked a bit too open when Thijs Thys came free, but Gösta Lindström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Thijs Thys hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Michel Finman made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Axel Forsman sent off a good shot on target. Gösta Lindström came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Ruda if's Tage Magnusson. But to his dismay, Tage Magnusson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. When Damian Andrzejewski came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Ruda if fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damian Andrzejewski couldn't finish the play. 75 minutes into the match, Ove Hellqvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gösta Lindström. Gothia AIS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ove Hellqvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Michel Finman successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Michel Finman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ivar Mellin went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Ruda if booed when Gothia AIS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrik Ros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gösta Lindström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thijs Thys, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. When Ruda if's Elia Santoro in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gothia AIS's goalie prevented a goal. 90 minutes into the match, Ruda if's goalkeeper Michel Finman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Axel Forsman. 92 minutes into the match, Ove Hellqvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gösta Lindström. Gothia AIS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ove Hellqvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. 95 minutes in the game Tage Henriksson did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Tage Magnusson. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ruda if fully deserved thier win.
