After 11 minutes, Otto Kaxe made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Blågula BollAtleter's Tom Vandendriessche tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 14 minutes into the match, Blågula BollAtleter's goal looked a bit too open when Otto Kaxe came free, but Tom Vandendriessche reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Otto Kaxe in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tom Vandendriessche prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Freddie Adelsköld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. Black is Back's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Blågula BollAtleter the free kick. In the 30th match minute, Black is Back was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Otto Kaxe to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paul Theissen in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kristóf Balázs saved Black is Back from getting behind. Otto Kaxe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Blågula BollAtleter's Tom Vandendriessche proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Blågula BollAtleter from getting a goal against them. Otto Kaxe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Tom Vandendriessche tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45thth minute of the game Otto Kaxe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Blågula BollAtleter's Tom Vandendriessche was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Otto Kaxe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tom Vandendriessche was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Black is Back's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
