Chen Ao Fan might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vilgot Pedersson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chen Ao Fan ran back to his position shaking his head. Vilgot Pedersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chen Ao Fan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bennvar Holger in the 17th minute of play forced Skövde AIK's goalkeeper Olov Wahlnäs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute BK Murre were awarded a corner. Bennvar Holger went to the cornerflag to take it. After recieving a nice pass, Skövde AIK's Kevin Keegan tried to score from far away in the 20th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Vilgot Pedersson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chen Ao Fan in the 27th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bennvar Holger made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Chen Ao Fan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skövde AIK's supporters rose to their feet, but Chen Ao Fan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vilgot Pedersson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A sloppy throw-in by Nils-Åke Svanér in the 54th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Skövde AIK's Filip Brolin. In the 58th minute, Georg Norström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chen Ao Fan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vilgot Pedersson having to make a save. Chen Ao Fan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Olov Wahlnäs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bennvar Holger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute, BK Murre's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Kevin Keegan fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Chen Ao Fan struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Vilgot Pedersson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skövde AIK. Ulrik Sigfridsson made in the 84th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Skövde AIK's Hjalmar Hägert. Chen Ao Fan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 90 played minutes BK Murre got a freekick which was hit by Lars Sjöberg. Chen Ao Fan might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vilgot Pedersson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chen Ao Fan ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 92nd minute, BK Murre's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Kevin Keegan fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Kevin Keegan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vilgot Pedersson having to make a save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The BK Murre fans cheered their team off the field, for while Skövde AIK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
