In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hovby IF's goalkeeper Leonardo Jara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leonardo Jara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Keegan in the 10th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Jan-Ove Håning notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Skövde AIK's Olov Wahlnäs. Olov Wahlnäs was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Olov Wahlnäs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johannes Lång, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Skövde AIK's Olov Wahlnäs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Oskar Beneth in the 18th minute of play. In the 26th minute Jan-Ove Håning shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olov Wahlnäs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hovby IF's Leonardo Jara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurt Hamrin in the 29th minute of play. In the 30thth minute of the game Oliver Tsubasa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Skövde AIK's Olov Wahlnäs was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leonardo Jara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Hamrin in the 32nd minute of play. After 35 minutes, Gogo Maldonado made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Skövde AIK's Olov Wahlnäs tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Skövde AIK were furious when Hans Petersson was red carded, 41 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 41 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oliver Tsubasa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Kurt Hamrin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonardo Jara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59thth minute of the game Oliver Tsubasa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Skövde AIK's Olov Wahlnäs was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chen Ao Fan in the 62nd minute of play forced Hovby IF's goalkeeper Leonardo Jara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan-Ove Håning received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Olov Wahlnäs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Skövde AIK's Jerry Williams was substituted for Chen Ao Fan. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Filip Brolin during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The goalkeeper, Olov Wahlnäs, was totally fooled by Hovby IF's Sven-Oskar Beneth, who 71 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. But to his dismay, Georg Norström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. In the 97th minute, Gogo Maldonado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Hovby IF players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
