Spectators: 7485 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1827, VIP seats: 158) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Staffan Ivarsson got the match started through his kick off. Benjamin Blixt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Georg Sjöman in the 5th minute of the match. DIÖ IK's Nils-Erik Bratt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save DIÖ IK from getting a goal against them. Tage Vassenius's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benjamin Blixt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Olov Stolpe left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The DIÖ IK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 20th minute, Georg Sjöman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benjamin Blixt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tage Vassenius in the 22nd minute of the match. The supporters of DIÖ IK booed when KD Stiger was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Björn Engström didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by KD Stiger's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Elof Pååk was slow to take the kick. During this time DIÖ IK's players had a chance to rest. KD Stiger's Benjamin Blixt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Georg Sjöman in the 36th minute of play. It was a well-played corner which Evert Bäcklin managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pål Strömberg in the 43rd minute of play forced DIÖ IK's goalkeeper Nils-Erik Bratt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half DIÖ IK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pål Strömberg to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 50th match minute, DIÖ IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mats Wallin to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olov Stolpe got free with Benjamin Blixt in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benjamin Blixt made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Olov Stolpe sent off a good shot on target. Staffan Ivarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nils-Erik Bratt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Georg Danielsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Georg Danielsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nils-Erik Bratt having to interfere. DIÖ IK's Tage Vassenius got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 66 minutes of play, KD Stiger's Pål Strömberg made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nils-Erik Bratt was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 72 played minutes KD Stiger got a freekick which was hit by Björn Engström. DIÖ IK's Nils-Erik Bratt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Georg Danielsson in the 74th minute of play. Ernst Asmundsson charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ernst Asmundsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tage Vassenius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Benjamin Blixt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Staffan Ivarsson in the 86th minute. DIÖ IK's Olov Stolpe got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benjamin Blixt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tage Vassenius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95th minute of the game, Dan Ström landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Mats Wallin's late challenge caught a KD Stiger's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mats Wallin helped the player get up and apologised. After 97 played minutes DIÖ IK got a freekick which was hit by Mats Wallin. DIÖ IK were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
