Gösta Hjälm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torsten Sundström in the 16th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, HisingsBacka FC's goal looked a bit too open when Torsten Sundström came free, but Gösta Hjälm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Evaristo Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Zekai Suat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zekai Suat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jakob Löfskog, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 35 minutes, Jakob Löfskog managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. HisingsBacka FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jakob Löfskog was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Roger Eriksson hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Roger Eriksson got his second yellow card in the match during the 39th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 40th match minute, HisingsBacka FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Eriksson to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute of the match Per-Åke Sundberg sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gösta Hjälm skillfully saved the ball. HisingsBacka FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 42nd minute, when Florian Candeloro scored to the left of an out of position Gösta Hjälm, making the score, 1-0. The supporters of Malmö FF booed when HisingsBacka FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Ekström didn't get a good kick on the ball.

HisingsBacka FC's Gösta Hjälm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torsten Sundström in the 68th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Malmö FF's goal looked a bit too open when Evaristo Montenegro came free, but Zekai Suat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dries Vedder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Gösta Hjälm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Malmö FF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Bobby Moore charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bobby Moore the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 95th minute, Bobby Moore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the HisingsBacka FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Malmö FF.
